Army in Education is a website for teachers with resources from the British Army

The Army in Education website is a great teaching resource for a range of key stage 3 subjects.  The resource bank has lesson plans and activities covering KS3 Geography, History, Citizenship, PE and other subjects - as well as Careers with lots of information about a career in the British Army for pupils.

Developed in collaboration with teachers and educationalists these resources are designed to use the unique background and circumstance of the Army, its values and standards, such as communication and teamwork to produce creative and insightful teaching resources, lesson plans and activities.

The resources are FREE, but you will need to register to download the resource files, which include:

Geography: Where in the world? An interactive map provides a series of case studies explaining the reasons for the presence of British soldiers in countries around the world. (11-14 years)
 
History: The British Army Now & Then: How has it changed over the last hundred years? A series of lessons outlining the role and make-up of the Army in the modern world. (11-14 years).
 
Citizenship: An Introduction to Human Rights. Help your students to understand human rights issues with fascinating case studies on the Army’s roles in Kosovo and Sierra Leone. (11-14 years).
 
PE: Get Fit! Help students take control of their fitness with a fitness test, online body fat calculator and 24 readymade, exercise programmes for students, and a guide to healthy eating. (11-16 years).
 
Assembly: Explore ‘being an effective participator’, based on the British Army Antarctic Expedition, with photography from the expedition and audio files from one of the team. (11-16 years).
