PSHE Key Stage 1 - 3 Teaching Resources >

ASDA School Matters offers free lesson plans and activities for PSHE and other subjects

ASDA School Matters is a free educational resource supporting National Curriculum PSHE teaching between ages 5 – 14 created by ASDA for use by all schools and individuals.

The School Matters programme is designed to make available accurate and up-to-date information on food and healthy eating, in a way that is interesting and engaging to children of all ages. ASDA believe that children should be protected from the marketing of unhealthy food and drink and will never promote any food or drink product through the programme.

Resources on the School Matters website are free of charge and all the educational content is checked by the Food Standards Agency and an independent educational consultancy.  Through a series of fun, interactive games and activities, children will learn about different food-related issues: food safety, diet and nutrition, farm to fork and food technology.  Activities can be used on individual PCs or interactive whiteboard in a variety of lessons, including science, geography, PSHE and citizenship and design & technology. There are also a number of tried-and-tested lesson plans, as well as activity sheets, ideal for homework or extension work.

The site also has a very useful teachers section with information on how the resources, which are primarily for PSHE, have cross curricular links to core subjects for Key Stages 1, 2 and 3.  Teachers can also register for updates from the ASDA School Matters website.
