The UNICEF Teacherzone is an excellent Child Rights education resource

The UNICEF UK website has an excellent area for teachers and schools, called Teacherzone it is full of UNICEF UK education resources and information about child rights from a global perspective.  The aim of the lesson plans, activities and other resources is to show teachers how to draw on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in lessons and as a whole school.  The free teaching resources and lesson plans span all key stages and cover Citizenship, Religious Education and PSHE, with resources also available for English, Geography, Maths and Science, plus Assemblies.

Within the Teacherzone you will find free teaching resources and lesson plans to download or you can order paid for resources from their shop.  There is a Teacher Support section explaining how the resources fit into the National Curriculum, an Education Resources section in which you can search for resources to help with your goals, Classroom Activities to download and you can ask UNICEF UK's education team for advice or learn about the Rights Respecting School award.  Finally you can find out how to participate in Day for a Change 2010 (5th February) and help improve children’s health and education in Mozambique.
