Celebrate Valentine's Day With the British Heart Foundation

Monday 14th February 2011

From Feb 1st - Feb 28th the BHF hold events throughout National Heart month to raise awareness of the importance of healthy eating and regular exercise to benefit your heart and to educate everyone about heart disease, as well as to raise funds for their research, prevention of heart disease and care services.

The British Heart Foundation’s annual campaign to increase awareness of heart and circulatory disease and this year they launched BEAT, the first ever national heart health code and lifestyle check. It stands for:

•    Be Active
•    Eat Healthily
•    Avoid Smoking
•    Take the lifestyle check

The BEAT encourages people to take steps to improve their own heart health by taking the free online lifestyle check.

During National Heart Month, the BHF also ask people to be a part of Red for Heart and help raise vital funds for their work. You can join National Wear Red Day on Friday 25 February 2011 too, or just remember to wear red to show your support!

Individuals and organisations can join in to help support National Heart Month by choosing to set up your own event or help the BHF promote the campaign in your workplace, school or university. Pre-order the BHF’s free fundraising kit and get started right away.
