Free Interactive Primary Schools Workshops
Tuesday 26th January 2010
Dogs Trust offer free curriculum linked teaching resources based around Responsible Dog Ownership, they can also compliment this learning with FREE interactive workshops for 7-11 year olds.
Working in West London, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, the North East and North West regions of the UK, the Dogs Trust Education Officers use the theme of dog ownership as a means to help pupils develop self-esteem, confidence, responsibility, communication and teamwork skills.
The workshops are free, fun, interactive and encourage young people to explore problems of irresponsible dog ownership as part of Dogs Trust aim to reduce the number of stray and abandoned dogs in key areas of the UK, that have been identified as having a high stray dog population and destruction rate. Safety Around Dogs is also covered.
The workshops are designed to be flexible and the education officers do as much as they can to meet your schools requirements. The education officers have a range of activities they can use with pupils and are more than happy to discuss and plan the workshop with you in advance. They even have special four legged friends who come in to aid the learning!
