Free Lesson Plans from The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army website has a useful Primary and Secondary schools section containing lots of free, downloadable resources to help teachers and pupils learn about different aspects of The Salvation Army. There are simple lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations and ideas to help teachers put together a series of lessons or scheme of work. Resources are suitable for RE and Citizenship levels across all key stages.
The Primary Schools section has teaching resources for primary teachers about The Salvation Armys work, beliefs, worship and history. Resources and lesson ideas include: What is the Salvation Army, an introduction for key stage 1 and 2 pupils; Getting to Know William Booth, a history of The Salvation Army; and Signs & Symbols, a lesson plan and PowerPoint exploring the meaning of Salvation Army symbols.
The Secondary School section has a range of downloadable lesson plans, presentations, films and more. Teaching resources include: The Front Line (free video), an introduction to The Salvation Army and its work; Faith Hope Love, a new set of resources for secondary schools; and Belief in Action, a guide to the beliefs of The Salvation Army.
