Free Lesson Plans on Addressing Violence

Sunday 26th September 2010

Stand Against Violence is a campaign started in 2005 after the death of 17 year old Lloyd Fouracre. It is now a registered UK Charity with the aim to reduce violence by promoting good citizenship.  Their work focuses on producing educational material for use with young people and raising awareness of issues of violence, alcohol and anti social behaviour.

The Stand Against Violence website provides free educational anti violence teaching material to help educate young people about violence and its consequences.

The website has a short film which re-enacts a real life story of a murder demonstrating how easily violence can result in disastrous consequences and the many lives it can affect. All the teaching resources and lesson plans are designed to be used in conjunction with the film and are available in PDF format. There is also a helpful teachers page listing examples where the short film and materials can be used in various lessons.

The website also has other short videos and external resources. The Stand Against Violence website is very user friendly and easy to navigate and DVD copies of the film are also available.

For more information visit the Stand Against Violence website.
