Free Teaching Resources for Recycling Week 2011
Thursday 23rd June 2011
The theme for this year’s Recycling Week is ‘Recycling - Home and Away’ and there are plenty of suggestions on how to get involved on the Recycle Now website. You can attend events in your area, join in with special Keep Britain Tidy this Recycle Week for some special tidy-ups, or find out new ways to live your daily live more environmentally friendly ways by recycling as much as you can whether you’re in your home, or away. The reduce, reuse, recycling themed events that might be happening in your area include workshops on how certain refuse is turned into new products such as glass bottles, bricks, newspapers and plastic waste.
There’s also a special section for Schools on the Recycle Now site. There are Teaching Resources for KS3 citizenship lessons as well as posters and stickers, fun activities for primary school age children. The website also offers advice and useful instructions on how schools can start, improve, and encourage more recycling by pupils and staff every day of the week. For more information on Recycling Week 2011 visit Recycle Now at their website.
