Pet Care Education Resources and Activities

Monday 20th September 2010

In 2010 PDSA celebrates 93 years of caring for the sickand injured animals of people in need. PDSA is the UK’s leading veterinary charity, caring for more than 350,000 pet patients belonging to people in need.

The PDSA Education Programme provides free teaching resources, lesson plans and activities written by teachers, for teachers; while their Education team works with schools to teach young people about caring for animals.

The PDSA Education website is full of lesson plans, worksheets, assessment sheets, task sheets, videos and PowerPoints, all developed to deliver the National Curriculum in subjects across key stages 1-3. There is also an interactive resources section where pupils can complete activities online. Each interactive activity is accompanied by a downloadable lesson plan.

The website has information about setting up a Pet Protectors School Club, providing you with the resources to run an extra - curricula club all about animals. For a fun introduction to pet care there are colourful and informative Pet Sheets to download. There is also an Education Leaflet available with lots more information about how PDSA can help schools, and how schools can help PDSA.

For more information visit the PDSA Education website.
