Resources on Inclusion of Disabled Children
Wednesday 7th July 2010
Scope is a charity that has been working with disabled people and their families for nearly 60 years. They passionately believe in making information accessible and straightforward and have a range of teaching materials to encourage inclusion in all educational settings as well as a number of useful factsheets that address questions on inclusion frequently asked by children, parents and teachers.
The Scope website has an Early Years and Educational Resources section in which teachers can access and download a range of free and paid for teaching resources and SEN activities. Resources on offer include picture books featuring disabled children; free early years publications, downloadable as pdfs; an A4 Charter promoting good practice and childrens rights and a disability teaching pack for secondary schools, linked to History, Citizenship and English curriculums.
There is also plenty of advice available from Scope for teachers needing support.
