Snow Closes Schools Again this Week

Wednesday 1st December 2010

Fresh snow has fallen over much of the UK again causing many open schools to shut at midday

Parents were contacted earlier this morning, by their children’s schools, to pick their pupils up at lunchtime today because of new heavy falls of snow caused more chaos around the country. The main news channels are reporting again that hundreds of primary and secondary schools in the north of England, Scotland and now the Midlands too have been hit hard by the freezing conditions.

Head teachers are concerned that children and staff will have difficulty travelling home if the weather continues as it is for long periods, and made the decision to close schools. Parents are advised to check the local radio, the school website and local TV news bulletins to find out when they will reopen this week.
