Impartial, engaging and free personal finance education resources for students aged 11-19.

A new MoneySense for Schools site has recently been launched, redeveloped with input from teachers and students. It still offers fun interactive activities and a wide range of video clips to engage your students and promote discussion but now includes:

  • New interactive activities, quizzes and case studies
  • A daily newsfeed with topical stories about personal finance
  • Student testimonials and drama videos
  • Downloadable fact files and activity sheets
  • Supporting teachers’ notes, lesson plans and curriculum links
  • A student tracking system so teachers can set up lesson packages and monitor their students’ progress.

If you are looking for impartial, ready-made resources or just videos and activities to integrate as part of your own lesson plans, you will find what you need on the MoneySense for Schools website.

Content at a glance

  • Managing your money: bank accounts, payment methods, how a branch work and budgeting
  • Credit worthy: borrowing, lending, APRs and debt
  • Planning your future: savings, preparing to leave home, start uni or work
  • You’re in business: setting up and running your own business

MoneySense for Schools has received the pfeg quality mark and a Big Tick by Business in the Community.

Support for teachers
The MoneySense for Schools programme is easy to deliver by all teachers – they don’t need to be financial experts! The site has a variety of stimulating materials to keep students interested from short video clips of young people discussing their attitudes to money to interactive activities simulating real-life decisions that they’ll have to make about money.

Register online for access to extra features, including in-depth teachers’ notes, student tracking system and regular email updates about the programme.

MoneySense Coaches
NatWest also provide MoneySense Coaches who assist teachers with lesson plans and in getting the most out of the materials available. If you would like to speak to a Coach in your area, email us at moneysense@education.co.uk or phone us on 0800 912 0870.

Excellent, modern resource

I was really pleased with this resource. The content is easy to find and the navigation is simple and effective. The interface is very new and modern, and the large variety of activities is excellent. The programme covers every area and makes it easier for children to understand each topic. The fact it uses other children in videos and gives certain scenarios in the activities makes it more realistic for the children learning, rather than having to read or just listen to a teacher speaking!
