An online toolkit of classroom activities and multimedia resources that support Careers Education and PSHEE at Key Stage 4.

A suite of activities for 14-16-year-old learners

Real life, your life is a suite of online teaching resources for Key Stage 4 learners. There are over 350 different careers in today's NHS and they want to let young learners in school know that it is not all about doctors, nurses and blood and gore.
The real world of the NHS is far more varied and so they have designed a multimedia toolkit to help students prepare for the world of work, while gaining an insight into career opportunities in the NHS.

Using case studies, video clips and quizzes, the classroom activities are themed into five topics, each delivering different learning outcomes and offering numerous debating opportunities:

• work-related skills
• verbal and non-verbal communication
• working to help people deal with their problems
• preparing for the world of work.

Download the resources by topic or individual activity at www.nhscareers.nhs.uk/teachingresource

As well as supporting the PSHEE and careers education curricula at Key Stage 4, the resources can be used to support other subjects, including English, drama, citizenship and the society, health and 170x130_fitbox-nhs_teacher.jpeg170x130_fitbox-step_graphic.jpgdevelopment diploma.

Well structured and useful

Gives some great resources for lessons with the freedom of planning them yourself. The sources are easily indentified on their site and clearly marked out. The plans contain a mix of individual and group work, as well as using images and other aids to keep the students entertained while they are learning. All of it is detailed but broken down well so you can easily track where you and the children are.
