Exploring the Nature of Good and Evil in Key Stage 3 RE
The materials on the website are designed to engage pupils in thinking about questions of good and evil. The benefit of the resources is that they can be downloaded in the format of Word documents, which means they can be tailored to meet the needs of different classes. Although schools use agreed syllabuses for RE produced by local education authorities, the resources could be used to complement current schemes of work where appropriate. The materials on this website support pupils in specifically learning from religion, for instance learning through discussion of ideas and issues.
The main aim of this resource is to encourage pupils to have knowledge and understanding of the concepts of truth, good and evil. They develop their understanding of consequences in terms of reward and sanctions. There are opportunities to examine religious teachings about human behaviour.
This website offers teachers the opportunity to approach the study of the above themes in relation to different stimuli: video clips, written text and practical activities.
