Association for Citizenship Teaching
ACT - the professional association for those involved in citizenship education
Learning and Teaching Resources
ACT is a brilliant site for those who teach Citizenship. They are an association that helps support the teaching of this subject. Teachers can sign up to a free newsletter where they can receive relevant information about latest news, topics, meetings, resources and conferences. Each month the site presents a new theme which should be considered as important, noted and taught about. Previous themes have been archived and can be looked at by logging on to the site- which gives full access to all areas. There are a selection of Primary and Secondary teaching case studies which have proved very useful for all teachers.
To access the site, teachers must register for a membership. There are personal ones and organizational ones which have their own specific prices. Paying for a membership is well worth the money as teachers will receive magazines, recommended resources, discounts, advice and much more.
The site aims to help teachers make the most out of Citizenship and their teaching, and supporting them to. We recommend that you look over this site and consider becoming a member. It is well worth it.
