What the PSHE guidance says...
The Personal, Social, and Health Education guidance (England) for key stage 3 includes, "recognising and reducing risk, minimising harm and getting help in emergency and risky situations" and "a knowledge of basic first aid". The guidance for key stage 4 includes "ways of reducing risk and minimising harm in risky situations, how to find sources of emergency help and how to use basic and emergency first aid: For example, the recovery position and resuscitation techniques."
