The Aviva Athletics Academy offers a range of programmes, resources and information for teachers, parents, coaches and young athletes wanting to find out more about delivering and taking part in athletics!
Find out all about getting started in either coaching young athletes in schools or after school clubs, or how to get your pupils to participate in the sport!
The Aviva Athletics Academy is a one-stop shop for grass-roots athletics, with the aim of introducing more teachers to the sport and help you delivery athletics in PE lessons, no matter what your experience. Running, jumping and throwing are vital elements of most sports, so no matter what your preferred sport, athletics can support your pupils skill development.
Aviva Elevating Athletics workshops and resource packs for Primary and Secondary schools are a great way to either take your first steps into the sport, or use for lesson plans and ideas. The 6-hour workshops are held nationwide, by Home Nation athletics governing bodies. Written by teachers and the sport’s best coaches, Aviva Elevating Athletics is a must have resource for anyone.
Aviva Athletics Awards support your PE delivery, allowing you to measure your pupil's personal bests in a range of running, jumping and throwing challenges. Choose from Track & Field, Aviva Sportshall and Endurance Awards. Awards are easy to use in a PE lesson, and you can purchase badges and certificates at www.uka.org.uk/academy
Aviva Sportshall introduces your pupils to athletics competition for the first time. Held indoors through the winter months, you can enter your school in local and regional events and successful schools will progress to the UK National Finals!
Aviva Parallel Success disability and SEN programme, which allows your pupils to take a full and active part in athletics. Supported by regional assessment days, this is your pupils first steps along the Paralympic pathway.
Membership to the Aviva Athletics Academy is free, visit their website, www.uka.org.uk/academy for more details.
