Dogs Trust is the UK’s largest dog welfare charity.
Looking after over 16000 dogs in our network of Rehoming Centres, Dogs Trust is working towards the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life, free from the threat of unnecessary destruction.
To be able to reach our mission, Dogs Trust is committed to education and teaching about responsible dog ownership, to the future generation of dog owners.
Our programme is interactive, fun and curriculum linked!
Our free downloadable resources all include information on animal welfare to help educate the dog owners of tomorrow. We have also made it easier for teachers as there are accompanying lesson plans. The resources cover many subjects ranging from Key Stage 1-4, so there is something for every teacher in the UK! We also have leaflets and videos to really bring the learning to life!
You can see a full range of our resources on our website. Our website is also full of exciting games for children to use as part of their ICT lessons, or even pre pr post Education Officer workshop. Free Workshop Visits Dogs Trust have a team of Education Officers, who offer FREE workshops to Primary schools. Covering a variety of themes, particularly responsible dog ownership and important aspects of safety around dogs, the visits are free. What teachers say...
Many, many thanks for coming to see our Y1 and Y2 classes today. Everyone agreed that it was a very worthwhile workshop - one that was enjoyed by all the children. They were totally enamoured by Bailey - and you of course! The children were talking about the visit all afternoon after you left.
Your workshop was most professionally delivered, your teaching aids were excellent and you had a super manner with the children; one that enabled them all to engage with the learning objectives. Also, thanks for the certificates and stickers which the children loved. We sent home details of your website and suggested to the parents that the children might do some of the games during half term next week.
