Practical Action provide a range of free innovative STEM resources focusing primarily on renewable energy, sustainability and climate change set in a global context. All the resources are linked to the national curriculum and designed to enhance your teaching.
From the new renewable energy resources page you can download or order a set of free posters; check out the wind power challenge; look at their "top ten reasons why renewable energy is cool"; download lesson plans for the popular Moja island activity; watch videos of renewable energy in action and follow the links to recommended resources.
The climate change area has video clips, including the effect of climate change on people in Kenya; a climate change wordsearch and material specifically designed to meet the KS2 curriculum focusing on climate change and the link with food.
The D & T area includes a comprehensive database; videos of inspirational sustainable designers and details of their Sustainability handbook and D & T matters in sustainable design, a CD pack to meet the new GCSE specifications endorsed by OCR. You can also sign up to receive their free termly e-resource packed with ideas on how to include sustainability into your teaching.
