This is a vital time to get PSHE (or PHSE, PSE or PSHCE) right. Who wants to face a room full of teenagers with an under-prepared lesson on sex education or drugs? You can feel confident with the resources which are available on this page. They have been created by respected organisations, charities and companies who are experts in their field, and they are linked to the national curriculum programmes of study so that they fit into most schemes of work.

Why is PSHE important at key stage 4?

Now is the time to really make an impact on the way that young people think about their future. Whether its staying safe through healthy eating, active lifestyles or safe sex, or dealing with peer pressure and saying no to drugs and alcohol, young people need guidance from adults and good, sound lessons grounded in facts and real life scenarios. Use the downloadable, printable resources from the sites above, or link to their interactive online resources to really get the students engaged with the topics.

Now is also the time to really get them geared up for their future career planning, with careers education, enterprise activities and thinking about how they can reach their personal goals, whether that is through exams and college, or getting into the world of work. There is a lot to think about in KS 4 PSHE, so make sure that you are getting all the help and support you need by using the free teaching resources and lesson plans on this page.
